Jamie Schutz is an Emmy Award winning producer and director and President of Stick Figure Studios. During his tenure at Stick Figure, Jamie produced BALLET NOW with Tiler Peck and Elisabeth Moss for HULU, the Sundance Jury Award winner STEP for Fox Searchlight, CHASING TYSON for ESPN and DANCER for IFC and BBC, a seven-episode Emmy Award winning series, entitled THE MASK WITH HENRIK LUNDQVIST, as well as the Emmy Award winning documentary CLYDE’S NEW YORK about Clyde Frazier, both for MSG Networks. In addition, Jamie produced a documentary for ESPN with Spike Lee, entitled AND OF THE SON, about David Robinson, son of legendary baseball player Jackie Robinson and SPYBALL for ESPN about Moe Berg, who served as both a baseball player and spy for the US government during World War II. Jamie’s other credits include producing STORYTIME WITH OZZIE GUILLÉN, an animated series for ESPN starring Ozzie Guillén; directing BY THE NUMB3RS WITH JUSTIN ZORM3LO for ESPN; and directing and producing THE COLLECTORS, the Sundance nominated ten-episode series for ESPN. Jamie is currently in production on feature documentaries about Arthur Ashe with John Legend, Frank Lowy for Tribeca Studios, ballet sensation Sergei Polunin, and a high school boys soccer team with Robert Rodriguez and Gatorade.
Prior to Stick Figure, Jamie produced and directed branded films for brands such as Philips, DuPont, IBM, Lenovo, Expedia, Unilever, IKEA and The Andy Warhol Museum while serving as Head of Production at Ogilvy Entertainment. Television credits include Executive Producer on JASON OF BEVERLY HILLS for E! and THE UGLY AGENCY for TLC. Jamie also served as Co-Executive Producer on MIAMI INK and SHALOM IN THE HOME for TLC. Other television producing credits are Supervising Producer on NANNY 911 for Fox and THE MILLER SHOW for Oxygen. In 2003, Jamie co-created and co-produced the first reality feature film, THE REAL CANCUN, distributed worldwide by New Line Cinema and in 2000, Jamie spent four months in Borneo producing the first season of the groundbreaking reality series SURVIVOR for CBS. He followed that up with four months in the Australian Outback for SURVIVOR 2 and another trip to Malaysia to produce ECO-CHALLENGE BORNEO for USA Network before leeches finally got the better of him and he returned stateside.
Jamie graduated from Washington University in St. Louis and earned a dual degree in English Literature and Film and Television Studies in 1995. Prior to that, he interned for Gale Anne Hurd at Paramount Studios and Michael Levine at Levine/Schneider. Jamie currently serves on the Board of Representatives for The Producer’s Guild of America East and is a mentor and frequent guest lecturer at various universities and post-graduate programs.
